and Omar Gimenez, proprietors of the Ivy, opened their first antique
store in 1993, The Ivy Cottage, one block from their current
location. No longer a cottage, The Ivy Antique & Design Centre
is one of the largest shops on Ventura Boulevard, with 15,000 square
feet housing its select group of thirty-five antique dealers.
Their wide range of items include antique estate jewelry, fine
sterling silver, European porcelains and pottery. Roseville,
handmade rugs, vintage lighting and linens, wrought iron,
primitives, fine art and exceptional antique furniture from around
the world.
In addition to antiques, the Ivy features unique and distinctive
gift lines. The beautiful Franz line of hand painted
porcelains with delicately balanced butterfly winged teacups and
dragonflies perched on bended reed vases. Hummingbirds,
flowers and other art nouveau influenced images also appear on
trays, tea sets, spoons and candleholders. The Ivy also offers
a rare selection of English teas, foods and candies, deliciously
available for giving (or
keeping)!
Featured in Veranda
magazine, the Ivy's collection of stunning Brazilian Rosewood
furniture, constructed from 17th & 18th century salvaged wood, takes
center stage. Hand painted with hand forged iron hardware,
each unique piece would be a distinctive addition to any home.
And as always at the Ivy, tabletop accessories abound in fine
dishware, crystal and silver to finish off your table in style.
The Ivy is also known
for its interior design for home and office. Specializing in
custom upholstery, drapery, pillows and bedding, the Ivy has an
extensive collection of handpicked European and domestic fabrics and
trims. Design consultations are available by appointment with
their experienced staff, who can help you realize your signature
design style.
If you need to find
that elusive "perfect antique", collectible or special gift, the Ivy
Antique & Design Centre is the one stop shop for all your needs.
After all: "Everyone shops at the Ivy". |
